Simjet 1200 SP starter motor
Hi
Is there a better starter motor suited for the simjet 1200 SP ?
The included one looks like a quality motor, but it just does not seem up to the job ?
With a 2S 4000 lipo, and the engine without ignition/cold , it will pull my turbine up to 15-16.000rpm. This is with the battery directly connected. Same RPM if you force a cooling cycle on it through the ECU.
Is this a normal ?
Simjet have set the starter to cutout at 19.000 rpm. I think it would start better if it was set just a little higher.
But If I do that, it is as if the motor is struugling to bring the RPM up that high, and sometimes as if it is hindering the engine to self sustaint rpm,and accelerate, because the starter is sort of holding on to it......and does not reach the new starter switchoff.
Engine deffinatly starts better when the pack is fully charged.
