Sweet machine foam man and very nice article now if I only knew how to work with foam to make wings for my giant warbirds (ie cut all the crap out and install stuff needed for retracts,flaps, wires, ailerons, joining tubes) i might think seriously abt making me one of them machines but I def saving that page for a time when I may be able to.

Outstanding! Just what I need - another project!!
The only thing that makes me mad, is that I just chucked a dozen stepper motors last week, that I had been saving for a telescope guidance system, that never got built!!
There is truth to the old adage, don't throw anything away -- as soon as you do, you will find a use for it!!

Just awhile back, I needed a canopy for my .60 size
Cermark F-20. I dug in an old Quick-Built Chipunk
kit....I think it was by Midwest....not sure, and found
a canopy that looked like it might fit. They had the
replacement canopys at Cermark for $20., but they
were flimbsy. So i figured what the heck, and chopped
the canopy and put it on backwards so it would fit.
Mind 'ya, I got the Chipmunk in a trade at least 20
years ago....It had that profile fuse, and plastic sides
that went on for the round fuse. While I was at it, I
hacked up the sides and threw them out....and put
the wing sheeting and other balsa parts in stock, and
threw out the box, cause it was huge ! Crushed up the
foam wings, too.
Needless to say....two weeks later I opened up my new
flying mag. and it just happened to open to the
classifieds....and my eye fell right on an ad for a guy
who was looking for one....complete NOS, and was
willing to pay $250. - $300. for one. :stupid:
How does my $300.00 canopy look ????
