Pics of my mildly modded T Maxx
Few pics of my T Maxx (believed to be a 2.5R originally and I assume older shorter chassis)
Bought bought two years ago completely standard, one has been my spares truck.
The piston and liner went on the 2.5R engine, so I got a 3.3, always seemed to go through glow plugs with that so I've upgraded to a Picco .26 Max engine.
Had a few issues getting it running, but high speed needle is sorted now and it runs nicely on throttle. It's now bogging and stalling very quickly low down, so I need to sort LSN and idle and it should be OK, just need a new pull start first.
Along the way it's had a few mods, some small some bigger. I've listed as many part numbers as I can to help other out if needed.
Super happy with my new Land Rover body shell as I've always been a fan of them since young. My brother surprised me with it for Christmas last year, painted it himself too.
The pics may not be the latest with all mods, but gives an idea
It's not been run with that shell just yet, hopefully I won't roll it too much!
Here's the truck without it and you can see the nice big Picco engine:
As you can see, pull start has broken.
I've fitted an OFNA tank:
Done the common break mod, two brake metal pads each side and springs to ensure they release, spring on the brake arm too which is a big improvement on the old rubber tube.
I've had a set of these ProLine Max Mulchers lying around for ages ready to be fitted, but unfortunately they won't fit my new Traxxas Gemini wheels
So I'm going to go with some Badlands: (PL-1178-00)
Mod list:
Picco .26 Maxx engine
Jammin JP-4 Exhaust
OFNA 40066 fuel tank (mounted using Traxxas 4944 bell crank posts)
5x8x2.5mm bearings fitted to throttle and steering in place of white plastic bushes
7200mAh 6v receiver battery pack
Traxxas Switch Wiring Harness for RX Power Pack #3034 (need to find a better location for switch)
Traxxas 4975 wheelie bar
Aluminium servo saver guard
To be fitted:
3.3 servo saver set up as the 2.5 one is junk!
Badland PL1178-00 tyres
Traxxas Gemini Wheels in Black Chrome
Create some sort of guard for the OFNA Tank as it over hangs a little and looks vulnerable
Tempted to rebuild diffs with thicker grease but will drive it first and see how necessary it is
Then I need to do lots of bashing!
Hope you like!
