Default The right prop for my boat...

Im just about done with my Osprey.. Now i just need find a prop that fits. With my being a airplane guy I know a 10X6 wont fit to well (sorry bad joke) .. How do i size a prop that will give me a good mid performance prop? I will be buying the prop from VooDoo props.. The motor I have is a lightly modded 30CC homelite.

Still looking.

But it's only been 26 years, so far I have not found one I am completely happy with. One day I will though.

use a p280 or a x482 look at this page you will need a big prop because weedy motor's don't have alot of rpm. You will need the last prop on this page or something about the same. Keep with a two blade prop. A prop with alot of pitch will do well for a weedy motor. The pitch is how far the prop travels in one full turn. The homelite's run about 6500rpm and a zenoha motor for a boat will run 14000rpm. That is why you need a big prop so the motor can push the boat faster because weedy motors don't have alot rpm.

Look at the b280/2 that is a good prop for weedy's.

Thanks for the info lildude.. I was not aware of the rpm difference between "weedy" motors and a zenoha.

It will depend on what mods have been done to the homie but lildude is correct in that most weedys dont have high rpm so a bigger prop works better .Another prop that might work is the prather 275 depending if your modded homie has the rpm to benefit from a smaller prop.

Todd just be sure to balance and sharpen the prop befor you spin it. Here is a video on how to balance your boat prop. This is where the fun begins. There is a few more videos on there just watch a few and you should get the idea.
