Default bending 1/8 inch brass tubing

I've discovered a neat trick for making fairly small radius bends
in small brass tubing for fuel lines without kinking it.

I tried filling it with sand and using a spring coil type bender and
still got kinks. A friend suggested using a conduit bender (haha),
but that got me to thinking.

I took a prescription bottle cap, and cut it in half, filled the tubing
with sand, put the spring bender on it and bent it around the
outside of the cut in half cap. Viola! a fairly small radus 180
degree bend, with NO KINKS!

Sliding weed wacker line in the tubing works great for any bend too!

Another great trick is to go to your local auto parts store and get some 1/8" copper tubing. The stuff is dirt cheap and bends like a dream. I even use extra long lengths so I can go right through the firewall with it. That way there's no chance of a fuel line splitting inside the tank compartment.

The weedwacker idea is great.... works about as good as
sand and way easier to get in and out.

Dubro also makes a really slick tool for doing the job. I think it was less that 10 bucks.

works well with just the spring, excluding the sand.
