I think it does. I put the Align carbon frame on my XL, and if I'm not mistaken it's the same as the SE frame. Someone more in the know will tell you for sure.

I bought the 450XL and put the carbon frame in first thing when I build the heli. I had no problems. see picture. If I was to do this again, I would put the servos in the frame first as the little plastic nuts for the servo screws are small and difficult to hold in place when the heli is all together. see the other pic. of the frame I used. It's the same frame as the SE.

Isnt everything Identical? I thought they were the same heli, but the SE has metal parts and carbon. But still the exact same size and shape. Am I wrong?

No, they are not the same. The SE uses a carbon frame with true 120 degree servo layout. All servos are directly linked to the swash. The XL's stock frame has a mechanical mixer on one of the controls (I think its the elevator, but don't quote me on it). I think, but again I'm not 100% certain, the Align Carbon frame upgrade for the XL is the same frame as the stock SE carbon frame, just different color. Make sense?

Misspeld,

I just bout the SE frame for my XL and wanted to know if you could post more pictures of your setup. Where have you decided on placing your gyro? I hear varying opinions.

Thanks in advance,

Joe

Sure thing Joe,
The LHS I use was out of 401 gyros and since I'm no 3D Heli pilot, I bought the Align gyro for half the price. It's double stick taped under the boom mount.
On the elevator servo (the one in the back) the servo arm on needs to point back over the long end of the servo. see the pics and you'll know what I mean. This makes the conecting link vertical and not at an angle.
