running temp
probably a lot of these questions, but what should the running temp be on a nitro motor. yesterday i installed a spektrum dx2s system on the car and it came with the temp gauge wire. well today i was running it and the temp on the remote said 292 and my infrared said 280. so which one is more acurate. the temp wire is wrapped around the cylinder like explained in the instruction book.

RE: running temp
They're probably both right. Where did you point the infrared? The glowplug should be the hottest spot, but I suppose heat could really gather under the fins.
Pretty cool to have a remote reading on temps. But don't get too wrapped up in it. I noticed a while back that my engine would run around 285 on grass, but down to 235 when on pavement....all with the same tune. I'd try to forgoet about it, or at least just tell yourself that maybe going over 300F isn't good (not critical, so use the source of your choice).
