The best giant scale is one you enjoy and are capable of flying. This could be Piper Cub, an Edge 540, or a P-51. My first giant was a 1/4 scale Sig Cap which I still enjoy flying.

I agree with above. Mine was a Cap 232, while another guy in our club was a 120 Four Star w/G38, another one was a Giant Aeromaster.

Matters what you like.

champion,
Remember, giant scale planes fly better, due to having more air under them. They are also easier to see. The biggest mistake I see guys at our field make with giant scale planes is trying to land too slowly. This often results in a PLOP on the ground with gear and wing damage at the least. The aerobatic airplanes can more often get away with this maneuver? Should you decide on a Warbird, treat it as such. A giant scale P-51 is not a Lazy Bee... I would choose a P-51 in a second. Good luck.

The Sig Cap is good for your first biggen. You can get it at Tower Hobbies for $349. Mine has a Saito 150.
