The manual will be available online soon! It's amazing that nowadays a quality model can be produced quicker than a quality manual [X(]

I wonder how anybody is able to do "lots of improvements" over the "old" 2.6m Extra? But they (Composite-ARF) sure is proud of this new Extra.

That is brilliant Mark! Can it be ordered without the circus circus logo? I'd like to do my own graphics on one. Sure is nice and I look forward to the manual and seeing the changes involved. The wing tube and carbon tube option looks great.

That does look nice but it is a lot of coin for a 100cc plane. Interesting how they "improve" the canopy by going to the single-place, but on the larger plane they "improve" the canopy by stretching it to the two-seater.

RE: NEW Composite-ARF Extra 300SX 2.6m
flew the old version every weekend for 3 years then sold it. my only complaint was too much dihedral requiring too much mixing - the oversize canopy was a brick and the wings with heavy blade spar were just way too heavy. it was a great plane I have no complaints but my ca 2.6 yak is much better - less dihedral. higher wing position and some rudder area below bottom of fuse gets rid of all mixing and most important the wings are incredibly light making it a pattern dream snaps, spins are crisp and predictable, switch to max hingline throws and it 3ds like a mother. after flying my yak for a month I sold all my 40% stuff - it is no longer necessary. 35%ers fit easy in van and the mechanical setup is easy and cheep with one servo on everything no power box, etc. on paper this new extra should be close to yak in handling characteristic but has that beautiful look about it and should present better in the air. I will wait till feeding frenzy is over and try one on for this winter building project.

So your wish was made...less diahedral, small canopy because it is lighter, Motor dome is built in to reduce weight, more prefab as with all the later Composite ARF kits.
Even the spinner is supplied with this kit-painted!

RE: NEW Composite-ARF Extra 300SX 2.6m
Hi everybody!
I bumped into this old thread while checking out what’s going on here at RCU.
I just maidened my 2.6m 300SX the other day. The plane flew great. Or at least all the pattern stuff was first class. High alpha stuff, on the other hand, suffered from too forward CG. There was quite a lot of wing rock during harrier, and proper flat spin was impossible to achieve.
I’m quite sure though that when I shift my batteries more aft, the plane will handle better. At least I hope it will…
There seemed to be some need for mixing for knife edge flight, I’ll get that sorted after CG adjustment.
I basically used all the hardware mentioned in the manual. DA-100 with MTW canisters, JR 8411’s for ailerons, 8511’s for rudder and elevators. I have 2200 mAh LiPos with a 40/24 Pro Powerbox for RX. Also ignition is powered with a 2200 mAh LiPo (Through a Powerbox regulating switch). AUW is around 11.5 kilos.
Here’s a couple of pictures, I’ve been too lazy to install landing gear cuffs and wheel pants yet.
