645 fast enough?
I building the Yal 54 65", this is my first profile and I cant believe it but I'm already in love with this plane and it's not even off the ground! The build is going faster that any plane that I have built and the quality of the wood is the best I've worked with.
This may be an old question, but will 645's at 4.8 V be a good chose for the plane? What I'm thinking is, if I go to a bigger profile I could go to 6 V and use the 645 on it.

RE: 645 fast enough?
I'd keep it at 4.8 V.
I've got 80" with 645's with 6V and they are monsters. It's alot for the 65" Yak. 65" Yak is big light baby ... doesn't need much more then 90 oz. per.
Plus you'll take less risk of failure with 4.8 and get more flight time per charge.
OR
Try em both ... see what you like! It's only a battery swap. But go 4.8 first. I can assure you that will be enough though.

RE: 645 fast enough?
Thanks
The speed of the 645's is (.24 at 4.8) is this fast enough for 3D? I have 635's (.18 at 4.8)on my funtana because I thought you need speed for 3D? I think the 645's will be a good chose if the speed is fast enough.

RE: 645 fast enough?
Well I'll have to trump Dion here and say go with 6v. The 6xx series of servos are all basically the same trading only speed for torque via the gear train. So given that the 645s are the strongest of the series but are also the slowest. You will need the speed for rpaid control surface changes so go with an 1100 NiMH 6v pack.
