Guillows P-38 Electric power ideas...
I'm finishing up a guillows P-38 lightning and plan on running it electric.
I know, it's a crap kit that was never designed to fly well, but that won't stop me.
I've done a fair amount of flying but just basic RTF kits.
Basically I'm not sure what type of power setup I'll need.
I'm thinking maybe 400's direct drive.
If I had two brushless motors comparable to 300's could those be run off a single large speed control?
I only plan on flying it a few times which gives me two thoughts.
1. Go with cheap can motors and leave everything intack when I hang it up
OR
2. Go expensive brushless setup and scavange the parts for my next plane
Any suggestions?

My experience with trying to run two brushless motors off one controller it doesn't work and you need two controllers with a Y-connector for the batteries.
Well, acutally it does work for a little while, then either a motor or the speed controller gets trashed.

Justin,
You are better off to make a wall hanger out of it.
The wing is not designed for flight, it's designed for appearance.
Can it be done? Yes
How does it fly? At extreamly high speeds to keep it in the air, not enough wing area for the weight.
You are going to have to run a set up where the motors/ props are hauling the fuselages around, as the wing won't do it.
You also will need a looooooong runway. And plan on running WOT the whole time.
Been there/ done that.
