Hey All,

I've recently acquired a big bingo, and have a quadra 42 for it.

Just a couple questions:

1) Is this a good engine for the plane ?
2) Am I going to need the big servos ?
3) Is everything I hear about this plane being absolutely amazing true ?

I AM CURRENTLY BUILDING ONE. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A GREAT FLIER. THE INSTRUCTIONS SUGGEST USING 1/4 SCALE SERVOS FOR THE RUDDER AND ELEVATOR, YOU CAN USE STANDARD SERVOS FOR THE ALERONS AND THROTTLE. I AM PUTTING A 46CC GAS ENGINE IN MINE. ITS STILL ABOUT A MONTH OR SO AWAY FROM COMPLETION. LET ME KNOW HOW YOURS FLIES.

It's like an old Timex....
Takes a licken' and keeps on a ticken'
I have one with a G62 and 22x10 prop, that I just recently recovered...
A Q42 will fly it well...
The origional owner of the one that I have had a BME44 on it and it would do the whole pattern..

I'll recomend
110oz servo on the elevator..
110oz servo for the rudder
65oz in the wings
All metal geared..
Standard servo for the throttle

If you don't have a set of prints for the balance point, let me know and I'll give you the measurement...
Elevator and arelons are verrrrrry efective so be gental on the sticks and don't over do it...
It's a extrmely heavy plane...mainly because of all the plywood in it...flies like a big trainer, landings can be fun...mine likes to drop the tail just before touchdown, so watch out for a flare and a few bounces...or move the balance point forward a bit...

The one I've got is still a ways away from being done. It was crashed, so it's needs a new covering job, a couple new ribs at the roots of the wings, and the fuse needs to be put back together (clean break where the gear goes, right at where the LE of the wing would be)

Are the 110 oz servos the big ones ? I'm no expert at servos yet.
If you could post your measrements for CG, that would be great.

The plane that I have, had been in the local club for quite a while, everyone loved it , then the owner sold it to a guy in Labrador, where it was crashed, and then it somehow made it's way back to St. John's, where me and my dad got it. Whenever I talk to anyone about it, they all say pretty much the same things. Beautiful plane, no vices .. I'll see soon I hope.

The center of gravity for the Big Bingo is rght on the center spar.

No...they aren't the 1/4 scale servos...
Been using Hobbico CS71's 110oz, and but getting hard to find...
CS65's for the wings (I think, they are burried in the wing and can't look at them...)

Hitec has some great servos...look at the HS625mg's 70 something oz., and the heavier (more oz) ones for the tail.

Spar sounds about right for the cg...but would allow it to be moved some for fine tuning..
I'm moving mine forward a little at a time to try and get landings a little better..

nice bird, bigbird ..

mines a bit different, it's got a bit of a cowling under and in front of the engine..

would you recommend putting the servos in the tail ?

I used the servos for balance...also no extentions....soldered in Ace 22 gauge extention wires in....
