Default Dave Patrick Edge 540 with ZDZ 50 engine.

Hi Guys,

Does anyone here have a ZDZ 50 or ZDZ 40 installed on a Dave Patrick Edge 540?
I have a ZDZ 50 on my modified H9 Edge 540 and will be using this engine on my DP Edge. I have built an engine box fro the H9 Edge since it comes without, however the DP Edge does have an engine box but will need some mods to fit the ZDZ 50. I am contemplating modifying that box or using standoffs. From my calculations if I use 1.14 inch stand offs to give me the 3/16 inch prop clearance from the cowl, I don’t think that the carb will clear the firewall. I have not measured the carb as yet as it is still in my other Edge. The other option is using long enough standoffs to clear the carb but this means I would have to redrill holes in the cowl further back which does not leave enough surface area for stability.

Thanks,

Striker.
