Top speed and acceleration increase question
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if 30 km/hour (8 meters/second) is an appropriate speed for stock Tamiya Subaru Impreza WRC 2007? Taking into consideration that the car goes indoor through a long hall, starts from a carpet and path is rather slippery linoleum?
What is possible to do to achieve 50 km/h - enhanced motor or other parts like slick tyres perhaps, and what are suitable for this particular model? Model number 46605-900.
I am using the car just for fun driving, making mini-drag runs, doing quick turns etc.

The purpose of this mod is straight sprints along the long hall inside the house.

Yeah, you can change the motor out without compromising the reliability, assuming the transmission has all metal gears. You would also need to buy LiPOs if you don't already have them and a brushless ESC, too.

I am planning to make a racing conversion on my Impreza, so building the scope of work for the time being: new motor, chassis parts replacement, new tires (I guess it is possible to find the low profile slicks) as well as the imitation of the exhaust system (the one that changes the engine sound, salesman told me they are available).

what you have is a tamiya tt01. body is completely irrelevant. it can handle brushless without any modification, however you are limited in gearing, which will limit your motor choices. that said, it sounds like you are looking at brushed motors. you will need a new esc because the stock one cant handle fast motors. at that point you might as well go brushless.

I wouldent bother trying to race a Tamiya tt01... those things are nearly vintage and compared to today's cars or even late 90's belt driven cars its miles behind in performance.
I think your enthusiasm is fantastic, but u need to understand that is a very old entry level car.... 30km/h is very slow and is comparable to a domestic cat
First thing.... rolling resistance and weight..... make sure it has ballbearing where ever possible, no excissive gear grease, perfect gearmesh and shimmed diffs would be a good start.... and dont weight ur car down with crap like sound machines and what not
as for motor options.... i wouldn't even bother about changing it until u know the relationship between motor size/motor turns and the effect it has on torque and rpm.
so my advice.... if u plan to mod/customise ur rc car u need to do a little research... not much
if u want we can point u in the direction with some youtube videos and awnser any guestions
