i was wonderin in races at tracks, how many trucks run at the same time cuz the radio i have can only come in like 6 different frequencies, so how many frequencies are there possible?

there are something like 40 different ones, but normally at a race everything is sorted out, if someone uses the same frequency as you, one of you will use another one, a good race track will probably have there own collection of crystals for this reason.

they might charge you a rental fee.. i remember when i was really young i payed 20$ to use an old XLT for the day, he supplied battery packs and everything. They might charge you 5$ and make you sign a waver of some sort. Jus depends on the track.

I've yet to go to a track where they have crystals available to "rent" for the day if there is a conflict. The track would have to carry a variety of crystals (in both 75 and 27 band) for each radio manufacturer as they are not cross brand compatable in most cases. If there are some, they are the exception and not the rule.
Most tracks race upwards of 10 cars / trucks at a time. This is partially due to the fact that most lap counting systems (old and new) come with 2 sets of 10 transponders and the software that runs them is designed to keep track of no more than 10 cars at a time.
If the track is using a human spotter type of counting system, they typically run fewer cars.

Same here. Never been to a race track where they rent crystals. But then again, some racetracks might have this program.
You bring extra sets and if it is taken and both racers don't have a channel free, you "might" get bumped to the next heat. I have been in the situation where "too bad" during a Q. Mains are different story.
The tracks I run on do allow up to 10. Depending on your frequency, 27mhz have 6 channels and 75mhz have 30 channels. During sign up, you will need to write down you main channel and backup. The race coordinator will "try their best" to accomodate all.
A lot (or most all) of the tracks now uses AMBRc which requires you to buy your own transponder. Some tracks have a transponder or two extras to lend. These transponders cost about $50. If you have your own, just register the transponder # with the track and you're set.
Some guys run 40mhz or 41mhz. Illegal in US.

AM and FM use the same frequencies. You can get either in 27 mhz and 75 mhz., so you have the same number of frequencies (crystals) to choose from either way (AM vs. FM)
BTW: AM stands for amplitude modulation and FM is frequency modulation.

Yes, frequency modulation (FM) is less prone to interference.
AM (or amplitude modulation) varies the intensity of the signal strenghth. FM varies the frequency within a specified range.

The response here is as complete as possible 1) to get some of us educated and 2) because all of us are helpful.

well the idea of stupidity is reiforced by the physical science teacher at out school, he calls everyone retard, ***, dumass, and many others, and i know im not stupid, im in the top 10% of my class... of about 400 people and my average gpa is over 4.0
but since this thread has gotten popular i got another question
when painting a body and makin designs, is it easier to do it on the outside or inside, cuz i know if u paint the inside scratches wont show up as much
