Default Mounting Xtreme Pilots

Anybody have any experience mounting the Slimline Xtreme Pilot figures? I just received one today and they are of a vinyl material that I dont think will do well with many types of glue. The Slimline website does not offer any suggestions so I am open to any.

Thanks

Rough it up with 80 grit sandpaper and try some thick CA. I bet it will hold.

Try Zap-A-Dap-A-Goo II. That stuff bonds anything to anything. I use it to bond those flexible H9 scale pilots to my cockpit floor.

Thanks all for the suggestions...guess Ill make a trip to the LHS and compare some glues.

Steve L...I didnt try CA, but I did rough it up with 60 grit and tried 30 min. epoxy. Left it dry overnight and in the morning she peeled off just as clean as you would want it to. Maybe the CA would "burn in" a little deeper.

If they're made of the same material as the pilots that Hobby Lobby (Graupner) sells, you can take a small drill (1/16" or so) and drill some holes into the base of the pilot figure and the mounting surface to act as riveting for Goop or Shoe Goo. It'll hold the pilot in well enough that you'll tear out the cockpit floor if you try & remove it by force. To remove the pilot mounted this way, use a razor blade to get a slot started between the figure & the mounting surface and use a piece of waxed dental floss to saw through the glue under the figure. It works neatly and allows re-use of the pilot after removing the remaining glue from it's base. Clean the base with rubbing alcohol before gluing for good adhesion to the non-holy areas...
