I have a us 41cc on a big old plane that is called the 8 ball special the plane is heavy at about 23 lbs. So I am thinking about putting this engine on some thing else so how about you guys giving me some ides.

RE: what plane for us 41cc
When I bought Memphisbelle's Yellow Aircraft P-47, he removed the US41 and installed the US41 off his 4-star 120. I guess I got the more experienced engine. Works great, huge loops, reasonable takeoff, semi-axial 4-point rolls.
In the meantime, he was hovering the 4-star 120. He got tired of it, and sold the plane & put the engine in his Super Chipmunk (Dynaflite?) Still has it, I believe.
His brother had one in a L-6, huge thing, about 100" wingspan.
Versatile engine. Adequate power, and plenty of weight if you need nose weight. (Some folks don't think of that as a plus, when needing less nose weight.) A few years ago, you could get them for a couple hundred, now they're "on sale" for something like $270.
Good luck,
Dave Olson

not sure if you want to build or not, but Great Planes has Pitts special ARF and the Christen Eagle ARF someone local to me has a U.S. 41 in theres. The TF Giant Scale P-51 is also a candidate although i would recommend something with a little more power for it, but that's just me.

I have a Great Planes Christen Eagle and A SIG Sukhoi both with a us 41. Both fly beutifully scale and the Eagle cowl completely hides the engine

I have a 41 in my 4-Star 120 and it flies great. Move the firewall back 1.5 inches to keep the CG correct without adding weight in the tail.
