YS 63 FZ Cam Timing
Hi Dave,
I took my YS 63 FS a part to change the bearings. Do you have any tricks to get the cam bearings out that are rusted and Stuck, I have tried every trick I have and they are still stuck. I am not sure how to set the timing when I put the cam back in the motor. I see a Dot on the cam, is that TDC when the piston is TDC? Sorry, this is my first 4 stroke rebuild, I have done a bunch of 2 stroke motors.

You'll need a slide hammer puller to get the inner cam bearing out easily. You can try heating the case slightly with a torch in the area of the bearing and reaching in with a hemostat, but a slide hammer is easier. You have to make it, the local hardware store won't have one.
The dot at 12, the piston at 12. Easy.
Good Luck!

RE: YS 63 FZ Cam Timing
Dave,
Thank you for the info. Can you tell me if I sould have my piston ported or I have read about work to the piston on the 63 motor. I have the motor a part, is this something I can do at home?
Thanks,
Bill Bigelow
