Questions on REVO
Just got a new REVO 3.3. I have some experience with Nitros. So far I've added the Resonator and the sway bar links. I want to have fun working on the REVO but I don't want to replace parts just to replace them they need to serve a pratical purpose or else I will wait till it breaks.
I've attached a pick of my new '80 CHEVY PU body. Yes, those are sparkles painted on prior to using a blue pearl!
Questions:
1. The addition of the Rear Sway Bar Link has required me to remove the rear bumper. Any thoughts on how I can get a bumper to fit?
2. Does the rollcage for the 3.3 add too much weight or obstruct service too much? Is it worth it? Alternative forms for strengthening in rollover/flips/crashes?
3. Is a pre-filter a must have or are you actually restricting airflow?
4. Any suggestions on new Radio's, and Servo's worth buying to increase performance?
5. Let me know if there is anything special that I'm missing and I should be doing when I own a REVO!

RE: Questions on REVO
I can tell you that a roll cage DOES add weight and you will have to take it off every time you want to work on the truck. An easier method of protection would be a wing kit. It sits taller then the roll bar and motor head so if you roll over, you will never scratch up the motor head. Plus the wing acts like a wheelie bar.
I'm not to sure but I think if you get the traxxas wing mount, it will re-locat the bumper so the sway bars can fit and still use the bumper.

Thanks. I heard that might work. I'll have to try it. I was worried that the wing would rip off fairly quickly. At the track I'm flipping about every couple of laps, due to this one jump I can't figure out yet.

For things like that you need to check the camber of your tires. If there cambered in too much you'll be prone to roll-overs. Check these out:

Take the time to read through all those and you will have enough knowlegde to ba a basic racer. It explains everything you need to know about setting up your truck.
