Christmas Gift Idea, help me go shopping...
Hello my RC universe friends. I would like your assistance on a recommendation for an idea I have. I am the father of two lovely young ladies, aged 5 and 9, and would a like a recommendation of which electric RC car or buggy I could purchase to race in my back yard with my 2 girls. I would purchase three of them. MY back yard is 1 acre, so plenty of space, but it is all grass. SO the buggy or car has to be able to maneuver on grass, granted, the grass is trimmed and blades are short.
Any ideas or recommendations?

The 1/10 Stampede .
It has enough ground clearance to travel through cut grass.
It can be set to "learning mode" where the top speed it cut in half until they get better then it can be set back to normal.
It can be had in pink and the Courtney Force ( blue/red) colors.

The flyinwalenda has pretty much picked out the best 2wd choice award RC in hopes of running in/above grass. Monster trucks will probably be a great choice. Grass has too many running condition variables for me to say yea, or nay . Just keep in mind grass will be number one enemy to motor happiness.
Get out there and throw some dirt!....or grass.

I also have to point out the charger that is included with RTRs, are designed to keep the price point down. The Traxxas DC charger that comes with the Stampede is just a plot (in my mind) to get you to buy an adapter of some sort. The included DC charger will not work with in-house AC outlets unless something like
is used. The adapter is $25. For the same price I'd look at the Duratrax Li-24 2S-4S AC Balance Charger Traxxas
as it comes with a Traxxas connector and you don't have to go solder something. Soldering is something you really don't want to be doing on Christmas day.
Bottom line...I didn't want you to have the surprise of charging RC batteries from "cigarette lighter" in full size family vehicle.

I assume you have a NiMh battery charger ? If so you can use that charger but you will need an adapter with a Traxxas male plug to charge the pack.
The vehicles come with a charger however it can only be used in a street vehicles 12 volt cigarette lighter socket. Traxxas sells a 110 volt ac adapter for it(TRA2976) but again if you already have a home charger you can use that with an adapter.

Well, the gifts were great, the girls love them, and plenty of fun. I made these connectors, so I can use 2S lipo as well, which I have many of, some even 5000 Mah, so we get to control them for quite a while. the 5000 Mah batteries fit in the car's battery mount.
I also made these connections, to be able to use the lipo batteries.
