How long did it you take to learn to fly?
Hi everyone. I'm a new flyer and just wanted to get everyones opinion and facts. I am curious to know about how long it took you to get good enough with flying helis to have the copter just about in complete control. I'm not talking about maneuvering around and doing stunts and stuff. I am just talking about being able to make it hover and get it to move around semi-small area.

Do you include simulator time in there? I spent about 3-4 montyhs flying a couple of sim hours every day while researching which heli to buy. When I got the Corona and assembled it I could fly a box pattern and figure 8's within about 5 flights. If I hadn't used the sim I imagine it might have taken a couple of months.

I think how much airtime would better suit your question, for instance, it took me maybe 2-3 months but I only did maybe 8-10 packs a week which was roughly 60-80 minutes per week at the most... some people put in 5-10 or even more packs per day etc...
