Default Scalloped MonoKote finish

I'm looking for some instructions or a website showing in some detail how to make scalloped Monokote finishes like on a Gee Bee. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "scalloped Monokote". Do you have a picture of what you are talking about so we can have a better idea of what you mean?

I used a coffe can one time to make the scalops, I drew a line on the monokote, approx 6-8" away from where the LE would be, then would put half the coffecan on that line and draw around it with a felt tip pin, then cut out free hand.
Hope this helps

You can use just about anything to draw a circle to get that design. A good point is to turn your monokote over and draw on the backing, and then cut your design out. Another option is to go to the sewing department of Wal-mart. the sell a circle cutter there. It's a large wheel with holes in it. You get a blade tool that will fit into the holes to cut your circle with.

Hope this helps

That is just what I needed. Do you prefer to iron over the trim or use Monokote solvent?

Faye Stiley's first book on covering has a very detailed section on covering a scalloped wing.

For what it's worth, I would use Ultracote because it has a paper backing that will allow you to easily draw your design first.
