Default Got my new crawler! XTM X-Factor

I think it is a XTM X-Factor. I traded a nitro on road car for it. He says it has a xtm 24.7 bigblock in it. Does that make sense?

The 1st thing I want to do is get rid of the pull start and get the back plate for my roto start. Does anyone know where I can find one of these.

Thanks.

Any other suggestions on what to do to the truck would be appreciated. I know its not the best for crawling cause its nitro but thats what I have for know. Is there any way to gear it way down?

Here is some pics

The X-Factor comes factory with the xtm 24.7 and and OFNA makes a roto start back plate to fit the 24.7 , not sure of the stock number..I will find out. I purchased the backplate from www.towerhobbies.com That's a nice looking X-Factor....I am so jealous

Hey, thanks alot soilwork.

Yeah its pretty neat. You can tell this guy took good care of it. Im always a little nervous about getting something used but I took it out of the box and it fired right up. This thing is loud. Its got the dual exhaust and the motor up front.

i think I may put the stock shocks back on because he said it will sit up higher.

Im also putting a servo on the rear for rear steering. Thats gonna be sweeeeeeettttt!!!

I am rebuilding one of my X-Factors...I have one that is stretched out. It needs a new dif and I want to put jumbo kongs with diamond rims and rear wheel steering also. The stock diffs are crap...I think the bevel gear diffs in the new mmt will work with the X-Factor

I would'nt raise the truck any higher, especially if you want to add rear wheel steering, the truck will roll over to easy and handling will be compromised. I also suggest to add swaybars if already not installed. If you need parts for the X-Factor you can buy them here at www.hobbypeople.net

I have the sway bars but I took them off so it can flex more. I just cruise this around and try and go over things. If I want to hanlde and go fast I drive my race revo.

Thanks for all your help soil.
Much appreciated because I know nothing about this model truck.

get that exhaust pipe off, that exhaust doesn't have any baffleing in it (its pretty much a straight pipe) so it doesn't make as much back pressure the motor needs to run right. it will make the engine run lean with no signs and it will blow it up. my friend had one on his jato and it didn't last much more then 2 gallons. but anyway nice truck.

I have not had any problems with my X-Factors besides minors things such as a few rod ends coming off and some grub screws coming loose. They are great and fun trucks

I see, so what you mean by the grub screws is that the screws on the axles inside the solid axle keep coming loose?
