Correct 46 cc Poulan Sparkplug
Any of you guys know what is the best plug to run in this engine. I have a 46cc Poulan conversion and I don't think I'm getting all the power out of it. It's turning a 22-8 zinger only 6000 rpm. This may be to much prop I don't know I have ordered a 21-8 from TBM to try next. Thanks.

NGK BPMR6F Champion RCJ7Y Bosch WSR6F or any resistor 14mm thread spark plug...The engine doesn't care what makes the spark, just that it happens at 28 BTDC....
Try it without the muffler...

22x8 is to much prop for this engine. I have this same engine and I am using a TBM 21x8 prop. The TBM props load the engine much more than other props so you my not see your RPM's go up very much. The good thing about TBM's is they pull very hard. The best over all prop for the Poulan 46 is a Xoar 21x8. Your will see 7000RPM or very close to that. Also Brillelli uses this engine and they found a Walbro WT-201 carb to be the best carb for this engine. Good luck these are very good engines.

RE: Correct 46 cc Poulan Sparkplug
Thanks guys, I bought this engine off of E-bay and the guy said it was a 50cc Poulan. After further examination I have found it to be the 46cc. He said it was converted by Ralph Cunningham. I have read nothing but good things about Ralph so I feel confident in the engine. I bought this prop before the engine arrived thinking it would be a perfect fit since I run one on my Quadra 52 and it hits 7000 with it.. It starts easy, idles and runs great. So no real complaints about the engine I just need to get the most out of it as my plane gained about three pounds over what I thought it would weigh. I wish you could rent props, I think that TBM does have a 30 day return though so if I don't like it maybe I will return it. Have any of you used the TBM props? Thanks Again. Any comments or ideas are welcome.

I use the TBM props and I really like them. Don't look for any high RPM's with these props, but you will get a lot of thrust. They pull much harder than props that spin up high RPM's. I use a 21x8 TBM on my Brillelli 46GT and I am getting 6700RPM. If I change it out to a Xoar 21x8 it will go to 7000RPM. They both pull about the same in thrust so I use the TBM mostly. Don't forget to check your balance on your props. I have had a few that where out of balance.

What carburetor do you have? the engine I have has a wt-529. I am not sure how much better it would run with the wt 201 carb that is mentioned earlier.
