About 7 years ago, they had ignitions with caps (the part that pushes onto the spark plug) that would get soft when hot and they would have intermittent failures. Mine was fixed under warrantly about that time.

Does anyone which 3W cap styles were problematic?

My newest (blue dot and later) have a sort of nylon cup within the cap, while my oldest (no dot) have a phenolic looking sleeve pottted with white silicone. The two caps old/new look the same from the ouside.
