- Biography
- USAF Retired Enlisted 1977 to 1997, aircraft structural repair, stationed at Kadena Air Base Okinawa Japan from 1979 to 1981 6100 LSS CIRF Jet Engine shop, and again at Kadena from 1990 to 1994 353rd Special Ops Maint C-130's and MH-53's, I started flying RC Helicopters first in 1979, trying to hover Hughes 300 (a Kobe Kiko kit) on the grass area between Dorm Buildings and later started flying RC planes at the Okinawa RC flying site, eventually flying 60 size Pattern Planes and very little Heli's, I knew nothing about RC transmitters back then, so I learned RC flying with a Mode 1 transmitter, the standard type for Japan. Returning to the US, I realized the NO ONE could test fly my RC planes and Heli's due to the Mode 1 Transmitter. I was a "informal" member of the Okinawa RC Club and not the American RC Club. Now, 2019, I fly RC Heli's and Planes in High Point NC. I was one of the few spectators at the F3C "Heli" World Championships in Indiana, September 11 2001, day of the World Trade Center attack. I met Naruke "F3A" pilot, and Sensui "F3C" pilot, I gave Sensui my Helicopter hat and he gave me his personal JR hat. Afterwords at the 2001 IRCHA Jamboree a 2001 Japan team member flew my JR Superio heli and fixed my transmitter settings for me, the 2001 F3C pilot from New Zealand also flew my JR Superio for me as he also can fly using Mode 1.
