Default What spinner? H9 33%

I was wondering what spinner is a good one to go with and where to get it. I am not looking to go with CF. I would like aluminum and it needs to mount up to a GT-80 with a Pro Zinger 24x10.

Thanks guy''s,
Kevin

I got one of [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0095P?FVSEARCH=LXRX34&search=Go]these[/link] to go with my GT80 and a ZDZ 26x8 prop for a 35% Pitts that I''m building. What diameter are you looking for?

A 4 1/2 inch is what it looks like would work best.

If you talk to Mike McConville, he''ll tell you the 33% size models use a 4 1/4" spinner.

Unfortunately the only manufacturer I found who has a 4 1/4" spinner is Tru-Turn. I got one for my 33% Edge and it fits perfectly but like all things Tru-Turn, they are really high quality but also pretty expensive when you start getting into those sizes...

Thanks. I didn''t want to say 4 1/4 thinking I would sound dumb...but thats the exact measurement across the round cowl section. I did not see any when looking so I didn''t say it. So a 4 1/4 by tru turn then it is. I have a few of the 4 inchers from them for my P-51''s and another edge but not any bigger.

Thanks for the input!
Kevin

P.S. Just got done looking for one through chief, tower, horizon....no luck. How much are you talking price wise? If they are 100 or close I might as well go with a Pete Models CF spinner. Curious to see what they cost.

Thanks again, Kevin

I had a 4 1/2 spinner on my H9 Edge and it looked stupid....too big, I actually just bought a 4 1/4 ultimate tru-turn for about $100 from Chief.

Well I figured that since no one had them in stock, I'd just have to go direct to Tru-Turn.

Now I did pay the extra $10.00 for the lightened backplate and the extra $10.00 to have the backplate drilled, but with shipping it was well over $100.00...[X(]

Best price I'Ve found on them was Don's Hobby in Kansas and that's where my last Tru-Turn spinner came from and it is a 3 3/4". They do have a number of sizes in stock but they have to order them if it's an unusual size or something, and then ship to you so it takes a bit longer but the price difference was worth it.

Depends which H9 33% model you have. All were made for the 4-1/4" spinner, but only the Cap 232 and Edge 540 come to a defined spinner ring on the front of the cowl. On those two, you have to use a 4-1/4" The Suks and Extra 330L and 330S dont have a defined spinner ring so you can fudge some on spinner size and it still looks fine.

I'll tell you he's good!!!

Mike is one of the reasons most of my hobby stuff including radios now, come from Horizon.

In this case, I mentioned what Mike had told me over on his support forum as the original poster has the same 33% Edge as do I and I've seen him ask questions about it in other threads.

On another note I'm kind of sad to see the 33% Edge go bye-bye from Horizon. I put a ZDZ-100 on mine after seeing videos of Mike's DA-100 powered one and another club member who has a DA-100 on his. Maybe they weren't recommended engines, but I'll tell you that model is a ball to fly....
