Default 400 ft. runway

I was just wondering what you folks think, tired of driving an hour away to fly , can get a peice of land with 400 feet of usable runway the land is much bigger but not very smooth just wondering if this is enough for 29% and larger aircraft or is it a marginal lenght. What are yall thoughts. I mostly fly up to 120 size I know for this it is plenty.

A 400 FT. runway is more than enough.

About 50'' more than mine. But then, now and then I need about 1000+ extra feet..... 35%er does well there.

I agree. Ours is 45'x500'. There are many guys that go off the side. Very few off the end.

Our runway is 400 feet and we fly everything except jets off it.

Everything all the way up to 50% has been flown there.

I agree as well, 400 feet is more than enough as long as you don''t have tall trees right at each end of the runway. I have 2 35%ers and I am not a landing expert at all, but I can get them down and stoppedin less than 400 feet...........Most of the time.

The club runway is 400' long and we fly planes as large as 40% and an assortment of jets. So far, no problems.

400 Foot runway should be great if you have clear access on both sides... Its one thing to have a 400ft clear path in a pasture that open both sides that'll give you 400ft to stop a plane on... Its another to have a 400 grass patch with trees at the end of the 400' clearing. Again, flown off of a 400' paved runway for years that was plenty, but was open on both sides giving ample time to bleed off speed through the approach turn and let it settle in for a landing.
