I wondered when Bruce was going to release the Hunter. That was based on my GT models Hunter kit. I think Bruce is going to produce one awesome Hawker Hunter. I will buy one. I got one of his F-105s and I think it is an awesome kit. Thanks again Bruce.

Hello Guys,

Our Hawker Hunter kit was released last week and the first kit is in Switzerland. Hopefully if the weather at Kentucky Jets 2010 co-operates, she will make her maiden review.

Here are her measurements: Scale 1:7.85 Length: 68†Wing Span: 50†Engine Size: .82 - .91 DF Fan: 5" EDF: 90-120
Weight: 5.75 without gear 7.25 with tires and brakes 15 pounds with 120mm EDF 4-6 Channels Speed: 35-150+MPH

Look at the nose gear. You mount the nose gear steering servo on the gear and it is direct hookup between servo and strut!

The basic kit is $595.00. This is a Turbine, Ducted Fan, or EDF kit. You then add to the basic kit those options you want.

I take it that this is just a sportscale hunter ad not true scale for competative use.

Hi,

We took the 3 views and made the plane. The only thing that is not scale is the landing gear strut length and lower leg. It is hard to fit 5 pounds inside a 4 pound bag. We tried every trick possible and unfortunately, we couldn't physically do it.

The nose gear has the steering servo mount already installed so you have direct steering.

We did take digital photos of the plane taking off a grass runway but unfortunate, the main computer crashed before they could be backed up.

At the present, we are going to the Route 66 Jet rally and will be taking the Hawker there to fly. You will have to hold your breath for 2 weeks.

Just been on your site and a bit over 2K for all the options (turbine based) is not bad for what you are supplying. However, I have to say that your 3-views were incorrect or something went wrong along the way, as the nose section from the intakes all the way forward is off by some considerable ammount.

As long as you have a published 3 view, you can take the document to any scale event along with plane and present it to the judges.

You may have something totally different but here is my documentation. I am not an expert on the Hawker and all the version. This is a Mk VI.

If you have AutoCAD, I will glady send you the file we used.

Hi Bruce, and yes I do have AutoCAD so would love a copy, thank you.

I was just comparing it to an actual real fullsize hunter for reference. However it still does not take from the fact that your model is a nice plane that will sell well for certain.

In my exerience, so called pubished 3-views differ a lot from one to another, pubished or not doesn't make it right if it is incorrect in the first place. I know that is how scale comps work, but if it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Send me an email and I'll send you the AutoCAD file.

I agree with you 100%. When we were going the design phase of our F-105, I use Squadron Signal and In Detail and Scale 3 views. When you looked at the 3 views, you would not imagine the differences between the two publications. Therefore, when we get a 3 view that looks right, that becomes the master and we stick to it.
