Default Giles and DA 100

Hi Tom,

Has anyone put a DA 100 in a Giles ? Someone was speculating that the DA 100 is a little too wide to fit easily in the cowl. Would it be difficult to use twin cannisters ? Approximately how much is shipping to the Niagara Falls NY area ? ZIP 14301

Thanks

I know of at least one customer using a DA-100. He said it fit perfectly. The firewall distance is exactly right, no spacers required. I assume he also meant no cutting required. It ought to fit fine.

You could fit twin canisters with a little work, maybe, but it won't be a simple drop-in like with our Extra.

Shipping to NY is about $50.

I said it's been done, but I don't think it's a great idea. The airframe is strong enough, but there has to be an upper limit to how much a plane can be overpowered before it becomes too fast, too hard to handle. I do not see a need for this much power, and it kind of takes away any resemblance to a scale model, but several people have done it.

My best estimate is Nov. 1. However that won't be firm until the shipment actually leaves the factory. I'll post something when it becomes firm.

In the past my estimates have been optimistic, but hope springs eternal.
