Take a glass kitchen glass, put dogbones in the glass, pour an inch or two of clear liquid epoxy into the glass, allow to sit overnight.
Break glass. You've created a paperweight.

From that aspect this hobby is pretty simple, either they fit or they don't.
You start changing diffs, and you start having to change other diff gears, and when you start changing all that you start having to change entire gear cases.
Can it be done?Sure.
Is it worth the effort, or a viable option (for most people), or ultimately worth the cost of all the parts needed. No.

Seems that you have two options:
- do what your mother told you (the older you get, the more you'll realise that she's right most of the time)
- do what I said earlier "Take a glass kitchen glass, put dogbones in the glass, pour an inch or two of clear liquid epoxy into the glass, allow to sit overnight. Break glass. You've created a paperweight."
