Default New ST Day!

Scored the blushless T4.1 today from my LHS. So it'll be joining my Slash 4X which is my nasty weather basher. I wanted something that was a bit more friendly to dry/dusty/pebbles so I was looking to score a 2wd and the Associated was priced right and is clearly a super capable platform.

I'm running it on 7 cell NiMH cells at this point as I'm planning on doing LiPo next spring. I've run 3 or 4 packs through it at this point.

That all being said, it's a great truck. It's fast, it's light, and it handles. Setup seems to be pretty good right out of the box, but then I'm used to a Traxxas...

So yeah, I dig it. It's also smoother and quieter running than the VXL system in the Slash, which I'm sure is partially the lack of a complicated drivetrain, but it's also due to the obvious high quality of the parts which are definitely nicer than most, at least fit and finish wise.
Associated makes great stuff. They have awesome quality parts and parts are also easy to get. They dont build most of their stuff to be hardcore bashers, but it is quality stuff that holds up and handles well.

Sometimes I feel it's my obligation to point out the obvious to those too lazy to look upsimple to find out stuffon their own.

I'm loving it. I'm supposed to be studying for an exam tomorrow but I can't seem to stop running this thing.

I haven't owned any Associated stuff since my old gold chassis RC-10 way back. I had a Trinity monster stock motor (I think) and just ran the hell out of that poor car. That was about 20 years ago or more now.

It's a sweet ride for sure. Only thing I'll most likely upgrade is the shocks.
