Default Tamiya TB-02D Drift Spec Build

Doing a favor to my friend who owns the LHS, he want's this kit built to display and I enjoy building them. Not taking as many step by step pictures as I normally do but I figured I'd take a few since I'm doing it. It's a nice kit, pleasure to build as are all Tamiya models. Comes with a Sport Tuned motor and drift tires, no ESC or body though. Has all the bearings it needs which is good.

Why are manufacturers still accomodating side-by-side nimh cells in their designs? FYI, photography looks great. If you increase the contrast and brightness of your photos slightly during post editing you can wash the background away so the picture only shows the object and no background with minimum shadow (I have to do product shots at work for some technical writing).

Compare this photo to your photo and you will see what I am talking about. FYI, feel free to erase this post, I just wanted to share. The picture below would look better if I had the native file; the quality looks worse because I edited your resized photo rather than the native.

Very nice, thanks for the advice moving this thread to the electric forum BTW, accidentally posted it here.I'll give that a try for my next pics, the background-less ones look great. Thanks again for all the advice.

And yeah, I don't know why so many kits have that sort of battery setup.

So what are the differences to make this kit drift spec?

Couple pics of the sport tuned motor installed with heat sink. Not sure how necessary the heat sink is but it doesn't look bad

Shocks. Super high quality, quite impressive. Also a shot of the Tazer 12T and S3004 we're selling with the car.

Finished, except the tires. They seem absurdly hard to get onto the rims so I'll see what my friend want's to do rather than damaging them. All it needs is a a radio and body.

I have one of those sitting in the box now for a couple of years waiting to be built...

I also bought a HPI Mustang body & wheels for the chassis.

For the tires, bring a bowl of water to almost a boil. Dunk a tire in, count to ten slowly and slide on rim. Easy peasy.
