best airbrush
Which type of airbrush (and which dealer)is the best for the novice hobbyist? I am looking for a decent quality reasonably priced airbrush with which to paint my HL tanks and Iam a little daunted by the vast selection out there. I'd like something that costs less than $100 if possible and that Ican use with a regular nail gun style compressor. Am Idreaming or is it feasible?

RE: best airbrush
I just ordered an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS based on a lot of positive reviews and comments I've read about it.
It's slightly north of your target price, but not by much.

Go with the Iwata. I got one couple years ago after putzing around with others, and the others are now crab line anchors. Well worth the few extra dollars. And yes, you can use it with a nail gun compressor, just put a pressure regulator on the compressor if it does not have one, and a dryer would be nice too. but not mandatory.

for easy clean up and tip changes go with a testors aztek I have normal badger type but i always find myself using the aztek because of simple spray tip changes and way easy clening of the air brush
www.towerhobbies.com has them

RE: best airbrush
You can use any compressor, it will just be big and noisy.
The big thing you need to get is a water seperator...I have one at the tank and one in line. I am pretty new at it as well. The mix of the paint is the big thing (how thick it is). Once you get past that you will have no problems.

There are good, reliable and cheaper airbrushes out there like the Paasche series, but I concur with others that Iwata is the best airbrush to get. You pay a little more, but Iwatas are so user friendly, you can make beautiful intricate camouflage work with almost little or no experience.

FYI Eggman, I just received my Iwata Eclipse HP-CS (along with a compressor) from the link I posted above. You and i are both in Canada, and the vendor ships things in a very "border friendly" fashion. Feel free to send me a PM if you want more details.
