Well, I have used Proline Crimefighters on blue groove and gonna give Proline Knuckles a try pretty soon since I hear nothing but good stuff about them. Should last longer than CrimeFighters and both are made specifically for Blue Groove.. I wouldn't even worry about cutting and glueing 1/10 tires for 1/8 buggy. Go out and get a set of either one and u wont regret it.

Also this is from the prolineracing.com:
The debut of the Knuckles tire in Punta del Este, Uruguay, crowns Pro-Line back-to-back 1:8 IFMAR World Champions. That’s right, Pro-Line takes top honors at the most competitive off-road race in the r/c industry with a fresh, new designed tire.
The Knuckles tread was specifically designed for the blue-groove, hard-packed tracks typically seen by 1:8 scale die-hards. When put to the brutal blue-groove test, at the 2002 World Championships, the Knuckles annihilated the competition’s durability by having 50% of its tread left at the end of the one hour main, almost twice that of the competition. Where most tires barely handle hour-long mains, the Knuckles stands the brutality of the test of time.
The extended life is due to the closely related, large lug design. It allows more rubber to be laid down while maintaining pin structure. Side bite has been perfected using multiple length outer tread design ensuring less lid skid traction rollovers.
Hope this helps
