RE: Fei Bao 339 arrived
Did anyone ever receive the carbon fibre reinforcement kit from FB? After waiting 4 weeks and not hearing anything, I finally order the necessary materials from Aerospace Composite. To say the least, I was most disappointed that the promised repair kits were not delivered.[]

Jclittle,
On my first landing with the 339, it floated just like the smaller DL Aeromodele 339 I had a few years ago. To control this particular problem, I deploy full flaps and engage the speedbrake. This has allow me to bring the 339 in for a very smooth landing with no bouncing.

Barry,
I will see you there. Right now the plans are to fly an Airtractor 502. Not a jet, but a great looking plane. No Mike Grant this trip, but we'll have dinner for sure, Talk later,
Thanks Wagner, will look forward to meeting you and seeing you there,

RE: Fei Bao 339 arrived
A couple of questions for those of you flying your FB MB339...1) I recently added the Sky Master cockpit kit to my FB MB-339 (looks very nice BTW) and it weighs close to 2 pounds. Most of this weight is between the wing spar and the nose so I will need to take some of the lead out of the front, I had nearly 3 pounds! I need to re-do the CG, but do not recall where it was before I put in the cockpit. Are most of you setting the CG at the wing spar as the FB manual states? 2) When landing this floater, do you ever pull the flaps up the second it touches ground to avoid a bounce? Thanks!!

RE: Fei Bao 339 arrived
Picked up a kit that has been in a couple of hands, but never built, although the nose carbon reinforcement has been done. It is about three years old. Built it & maidened it today. It is even easier to fly than the large Viperjet. Very stable & lands so slowly. I balanced mine on the wing tube, but it feels very nose heavy, so I will take out some nose lead.
A nice relaxing jet to fly.

It does fly nice....doesn't it. I've had mine for over two years. It doesn't seem to worry too much about the CG...as long as you're fairly close. It is a floater, though.
I'd like to sell mine...if anybody is interested.

RE: Fei Bao 339 arrived
My maiden flight & a few following flights were at a big salt lake with plenty of space. The MB339 flew great & although it landed easily, it tended to float & required some distance before it settled to the ground. I then flew it of our club strip 600 feet. It was difficult to get it down without forcing it & if I did that, I got the dreaded bounce effect.
I dialled in about half an inch of crow to the ailerons & moved the CG back one inch from the recommended wing tube position, that transformed the landings. The crow kills the lift that causes the floating & it slows down, flares & lands easily in around 300 feet. No bounce.
