If I remember correctly, a Decathlon has a short coupled nose so your going to need nose weight. My pick would be the G-38. A G-38 has a large flywheel and is one of the smoothest, easiest starting of the Zenoah engines. With a Xoar 18X10 or 19X8 prop, you'll have a great flying aircraft without adding dead weight. Plus the G-38 is a rear exhaust engine, so no ugly muffler hangin out and no ignition battery to deal with or charge.

I have both and if being light was not a factor I would pick the G-38 over the DLE. My G-38 has been converted by Ralph and it is SUPER smooth. Now don't get me wrong, the DLE is smooth also and produces IMO more power but the G-38 is a Great engine. I have mine in a 19 pound corsair and using a 18X10 I have plenty of power!
