well today i picked up an old rc10 truck on craigslist for $15. i figured id use it for parts if i break the stock ones on the rc10 im restoring. it turns out its got the carbon fiber chassis. it also has cvd's instead of dogbones. i didnt really think much of it at first but i saw something similar on ebay selling for $208. id like some more info on this truck if anybody has it. thanks

thats an early graphite rc10 car not truck. it has the longer arms but still has the 6gear trans. it looks like it's in good shape. it's not worth 200 bucks though. maybe 60-100becauseit's not complete and moderatley used.
those aren't cvd's they are universals, what we had before cvd's. nice find for 15 bucks.

it's a great plattform though, you could install a stealth with a b4 top shaft and slipper, rebuild the shocks and have a nice runner. you could still use the 6 gear but the stealth is much nicer.

That is an Associated 6025 or 6030 depending on whether it had bushings or bearings. It was released in 1989 and was only available in buggy form. The 7011 was the first truck released in 1991 and is essentially the same car. Kaiser is correct, it features universals and still has the original 6-gear transmission.

Good score, you got a sweet deal. I've seen all kinds of prices for these cars but the highest ones are for the original 1984 kits IF they're in the original sealed box and never assembled. I've only heard of a handful of those instances but they sell for over $1K. Kaiser's estimates for your's are about right; I'd say less than $100 for most previously run RC10 chassis'.

Does this look familiar? I have a 6025 that Iupgraded with ball bearings, replaced most of the white nylon bits with either black nylon or graphite and swapped the old transmission for the Stealth transmission which is much smoother. Mine needs some repairs today so it hasn't run in a couple of years but I plan to get it running for this summer.

thanks for the info guys. im almost tempted to fix it up and run it. it wouldnt take much. just wheels and electronics. definately a lot of good parts on it for my other one but we'll see what happens with it.

Right on. The original wheels and tires were 2 inch but those are difficult to find now. You can use conventional 2.2 buggy wheels and tires though you'll have to swap out the front axles to fit the newer wheels or find flanged bearings to get the correct spacing.

it's really easy to set them up to run modern wheels. you'll need to change those axles though. they are tapered 1/4" axles and modern 2.2 rear wheels are non tapered 3/16" axles.
easiest thing to do is get b4 hubs and cvd's.
