my first 'hobby grade' rc was a nitro stampede...crappytruck but i really miss it for whatever reason... im lucky to still be in the hobby after having that as my first truck
I LOVE the nitro stampede. There's something about it. It's too bad you had a lemon.
ya i know! it was a fun little truck when it worked... i just had soo many problems.

My 1st was a Tamiya Hornet in 1983 or something like that.I was tickeled, gosh i'll never forget it,now looking back,WOW things have changed,i went nitro in the late 80's,back then they didn't run right, all around headache as to now, they're just easy.
I was one of those who was plain tired of glow engines back in the 70's early 80's. I mean, we had a lot of fun with our little .049 planes and cars, then later nitro boats. Good to know nitro engines are better than they used to be. Might try one out soon.
One of the things that impressed me with electrics was the quality of the Tamiya kits.

I started with nitro, and it was a mistake. I should have waited until I knew what I was doing.

Electric, it was a 1980's Losi JRXT. It made it one day after I got it and then EVERYTHING went. Got  a Losi XXX-T a few days after that.

1st real car was a 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo. That was in 1998 on my 16th birthday. Just sold it last year due to a $5000 repair needed. Great car. Outran the cops once in it...stupid things you do at 17 .

my first was the Marui Big Bear , indestructible but would only turn a few degrees in each direction. moved on to the kyosho HI-RIDER corvette and thought it couldn't get better than that. just got into nitro about 6 years ago.
