Anyone know where i can get diff counter gears for a tamiya tb03 or tb evo V that are made of metal?
I realised since i have installeda spool ,gears are stripping and melting and i am sick of it.
If you pack a gear diff with the thickest lube available would you get like a spool effect?
Thankyou

Half of the EVOIV parts wont fit the TB03, and for a counter gear, I dunno.
Does the TRF501, 511 or DB01 have a metal counter gear? I know one is a belt-drive car, but dont know if theyre both or not. Perhaps an older shaft-driven offroad tamya car counter gear would help; look up everything from the Manta Ray all the way up to the TA04 series car. Make sure the gear is the same pitch![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

Take your time building them, and make sure the work area, your hands and tools are as clean as they can be. I kind of wish that you live right next door, so I can help you out. Have you tried looking on Youtube for diff building tips and/ or tranny building tips?
I wish you the best of luck, and hope things work out well![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

ive got everything working in my diff apart from the melted gear, after several crashes involving a spinning wheel it makes that undeniable grinding sound and after opening the diff cover you see half the bottom cover full of finely shredded plastic. So i am ordering at least 3 for the spool and 3 for the ball diff so i will never be caught with a shredded diff. Do belt drives ever have these kind of problems? If not i will get a TA05 V.2 as a back up.

Wow - sounds like a bad carsh. I want to kindly remind you that you are asking your car to go much, much faster than it was designed to do.
Please do inspect the entire car after a high-speed crash. Chassis - tranny - all suspension systems, shocks, electrics, battery, I can go on.

yep it was a big crash alright, i was driving at the parking lot at night timeand there was a 1kg rock in the darkness and i didn't see it during a 50mph speed run and SMACK, The Front wheel took the hit whilst spinning at 50,000rpm. Because i was accelerating when i hit the gears turned to dust (literally). The only fix can be my driving

I don't know how the rest of the tb03 survived over 1 year. All Ihave broken is 1 front upright, 1 dogbone, 1 plastic diff halves, 1 front diff gear, 1 rear diff gearand a spur gear. All that costed me around $40 from Rcmart Nice.</p>
