Default are these all the same size?

are all glow plugs the same size? because if they weren't wouldn't you need more than one glow plug wrench?

They are. It's an industry standard. 5/16" hex, 1/4-20 thread if my memory serves.

Heat ranges. An OS 8 is a medium-hot plug. An OS 6 is a hot plug, and an OS 10 is a cold plug.

You would choose based on nitro content, engine size, compression and whatever whim your engine is on at the time. Higher nitro needs a colder plug, bigger engines need colder plugs, higher compression necessitates a colder plug(This is to try to keep detonation at bay since the glow plug controls ignition advance).

Yeah...every manufacturer has their own range, but it should be fairly easy to tell.

yeah. i saw a #77 on my LHS website, and it said its for 20%-30% nitro content, and its a medium glow plug. its odonnell racing fuel so i guess that means thats odonnells' range.
