EG MX2 100cc Build
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 8.35pt"><span style="font-family: 'Verdana','sans-serif'; color: #323232; font-size: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'">I just received shipment from<u> Red Aero RC</u> the EG Aircraft 100cc MX2 in the Gary Ward scheme.
Engine and most of the other components are from <u>KING KONG HOBBIES</u>.
I will attempt to post photos and comments during the build, and I sure would appreciate your suggestions and comments during the process.

Scale: 37%
Wing Span: 108”
Length: Including spinner 95”
Wing Area: 2093 square inches
Flying Weight: 26.5 pounds

Fuselage and Wing incorporate carbon fiber laminations for extra strength.

6.0V Speed: 0.20 sec Torque: 500 oz/in (38 kg/cm)
7.4V Speed: 0.17 sec Torque: 611 oz/in (46 kg/cm)
Servo: Throttle Hitec 5665MH
Receiver: JR 922 PowerSafe™ receiver with failsafe switch
Batteries: (2) LiFe 3200 MAH Packs

First thing was to un-wrap the stabs and inspect them.
Two neat items, the servo bays are cut for the servo wire, and the rib
next to the fuse is not just plywood but plywood with G12. </span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt"><span style="color: #323232; font-size: 10pt">Next I laid out the hardware and other items.
There are absolutely no wrinkles on the stabs, rudder or wings; however i will still take my time and seal all edges & trim followed by a good shrinking of the covering. (nice not having to spend a lot time working out wrinkles) </span></div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt">After shrinking the wings, rudder and stabs it’s time to get going on the control horns and servos.<span style="color: black">Hard points are pre slotted. Just cut away the Ultracoat with a sharp #11 blade or using a fine point soldering tool.I like using the soldering tool as it not only easily opens up the area as it does so it seals the Ultracoat.Next I prepared the fiberglass control horns by cutting to the proper length and sanding the portion being inserted in the control surface for better bonding.I made sure to clean the horns with Isopropyl Alcohol and dry fitting prior to applying 30 minute epoxy.For the rudder prior to using epoxy dry fit measure and mark!</span></div>

Very nice. The one thing I like to see on a build thread is posting the actual Wing Area, Wing Spar and Actual Weight as built, not just what the manufacturer says.

Now all the control horns are prepped it’s time to mix up a small batch of 30 minute epoxy.Using a length of sharpened music wire coat the inside of a pair of control horn slots, than apply a even coat of epoxy to all sides of matching control horns.Remember to dry fit and clean prior to mixing the epoxy.The next evening I installed the servos for the ailerons and elevators.</span></span></span></div>

There is a guy selling the smaller version, 73" I believe< in my area...he says the motor...DLE 30 has pulled the motor box apart twice...I would be interested in opinions about the plane, and about what the plane would be worth...just airframe...Thanks, WC

I have been using a Hitech 7990 magnetic induction servo on the rudder of our 100cc planes,,,, AWESOME !! Be sure to use an SWB rudder arm.
Blue, I think you are referring to the SlipStream airplane. Had one flying for over a year with no problems, Also had the EG 30cc prototype flying for 8-10 months again with no problems.
