67" Fusion Bowed Fuselage
I purchased a 67" Fusion last week and started inspecting the ARF before assembly and found the Fuselage to be bowed. I called OMP and wanted to return the kit but the person that answered the phone insisted that I try "heating the back side of the fuse". I heated it with my heat gun and got it reasonably straight but it went back to it's original shape before I could cut the holes out of the fuse to start assembly. I've already wasted my Saturday trying to fix something I shouldn't have to fool with. What are my options?

This morning I tried a little gentle persuasion plus heat and its straight again. I'll let it sit a few hours and put the straight edge on it again to see if it holds.

I have bought 3 of the OMP 47" Edge 540s over the past couple of years and numerous friends have bought OMP products from seeing how great they fly.The last and I do mean last one I bought from them through one of my my local hobby shops had a damaged fuselage where the vertical stab slides in.It actually looked to me that it was damaged before it was even covered.I contacted the hobby shop about it and was told I should contact OMP direct. Thanks for nothing.I now go to that shop only in a jam. When I contacted OMP they wanted pictures.I sent them pictures and got no where. They were actually sarcastic with me about wanting a new fusilage.I finally gave up and I was able to fix it with some epoxy and small dowels.Definately not the way to treat customers if you want them to continue buying their product or to give them free advertisement.

I talked to John today and he said he would replace the fuselage. That has always been the policy to replace damaged items. We do routinely ask if a customer can make a reasonable repair, if not objectionable. Saves potential of further shipping damage. If not then the parts get replaced.

I bought my fusion 67" last summer and i thought the quality was very good.I didnt think you could get a warped fuslage because of the carbon fiber inside.Every piece i got with mine was nice and straight.
