Default tail wheel

I fly from a grass runway. My taildraggers have small wheels ( 1"-1 1/4" ). It seems to me that these small wheels create a lot of drag. Would a ski-like device work better? Is there such a thing?

Use a little bigger wheel. Skid would be more drag than a small wheel.

most tail draggers won't have the wheel on the ground long anyway, only during taxiing, when you want the extra drag anyway to slow down...
