Pilot RC 27% Extra 260 Servos
I just picked up a Pilot RC 27% Extra 260. I have a JR 8611 for the rudder, but was wondering what servos for the ailerons and elevator. Beautiful kit by the way!

RE: Pilot RC 27% Extra 260 Servos
Did you get the 26% 73" wingspan? How is the quality as I am thinking about buying the 30% 88" Extra 260 or 300 tomorrow? Any issues with it so far?
If I was building the 73" I would use Hitec HS-5645MG on the aileron and tail if money is tight get the HS-645MG.

RE: Pilot RC 27% Extra 260 Servos
The kit really is amazing. Probably some of the best covering I have seen on an ARF. The hinging is completed and the fuel tank is already built and installed. The pull-pull for the rudder is already completed as well. I am looking forward to the build, but am trying to decide what servos to go with for the ailerons and elevators. I have always used the Hitec 5645's and the 5625's but I am hearing they are having trouble with centering issues. I just hope it flies as good as it looks!

RE: Pilot RC 27% Extra 260 Servos
My SBach has 8411's on the surfaces and 8611 on the rudder (29 percent)
Like you say, wonderful kit (horrible markings but I fixed that) and the tail wheel needed help, but other than that the hardware was great, the canopy and cowl mounting were very well thought out and it flys like it looks.

i would actually prefer the hs-5625mg because of the fact that it is high speed and still has a respectable amount of torque. im useing these on all of the control surfaces of my pilot %30 extra 300. and never had a problem. hope this helps.

You're going to have a very easy time. Download the manual and browse through it but there's nothing special or annoying about getting the Pilot RC birds in the air.
If it has the same tailwheel arrangements as the 50cc Yak there's a simple mod to make ground steering a lot more positive and still protect the rudder but really thats it.

RE: Pilot RC 27% Extra 260 Servos
Just got my 26% Pilot 260, blue, silver and black...beautiful, really great in every respect. I downloaded the manual from the Pilot web site and I noticed that the engine mounting section uses the DLE 30 with the side carb....I have the DLE 30 with the rear carb....I hope that all I'll need to do is cut out the circle in the firewall to accomidate the rear carb...anyone done this...Thanks, WC
