Default Which Radio is in Your Jet?

Having found it difficult to capture the entire picture by reading posts, I'm wondering how the numbers stack up. Whiskers vs. Satellites, FAAST vs DSMX, etc.

I have two large turbine helis and want to go with the most reliable radio system. Which system do you use for your jets?

Pandora... hasn't failed me yet frequency hops between WiFi and 3g almost seamlessly.

Gotta go get the popcorn...

Pandora rules. More dynamic range than satellite radio and it's free. Sirius sounds like crap in my wife's new car. HD radio even sounds better.

Oh and I use Futaba

Futaba FASST > Always Imitated, Never Duplicated ... (Yeah, I add that second part )

Michael, you know as well as others by starting this thread, there's gonna be a lot of popcorn consumed.

You forgot to list Spektrum.

If your intent is to determine the most reliable system then you're asking the wrong question. What someone has in their jet isn't necessarily the most reliable one. I would expect that DSMX is more reliable than DSM2, however because DSMX is relatively new there are probably more guys still using DSM2.

Spektrum is owned by JR I believe and the technology is one and the same.

Actually Horizon Hobby owns Spektrum, and Horizon is also the exclusive North American distributor for JR. In the North American market the technology is the same, but that's not true for the rest of the world.

You should allow for more than one choice.

I have Fasst and Weatronics, which one should I poll?[&:]

I currently have a Airtronics SD-10G in my Boomerang so far no issues, Before the 10G I was using a Futaba 9C with the 2.4 module TM8 also no issues.

I use Weatronics (a pre-2.4 set) DSM2 and Hitec Aurora 9, but can tick only one.

I used to fly Spektrum in my 10x. I have seen so many people have problems with DSM2 I switched to a Hitec module in my 10x using the Optima 9 receiver. This has been working great .

Check out the you tube videos on dsms, Hitec, and Futaba Fasst. You made the call.

WOW! I never would have guessed that Futaba and JR would be so evenly matched in usage. Seems a lot of guys are going Futaba lately. Is this a fluke or are people just getting tired of lock-outs?
