Another what is this...
This one is a challenge, no pictures! Hobby grade MRC 4WD Red Buggy sold during 1986/1987 in Kay-Bee Toys for $99.99. Interesting note, I also saw the same model in Jewelcor for $129.95 and in Macy for $199!!! Talk about a mark-up.

I think I remember these cars a little bit. It was a mockup to compete with the Tamiya Hotshot.
I looked it up on google and couldnt find anything about that car. Try "MRC Royal Ripper"
There is some "Royal Ripper" parts on ebay, just not a complete chassis.[:-]
If you find one NIB expect to pay a pretty penny.

The internet is a funny thing, I searched once, twice - nothing, then there is it - maybe. I couldn't find a picture of the Royal Ripper but did come across the Road Winner. I haven't seen mine in 24 years so... it looks like it but can't be sure unless someone can say for sure Kay-Bee sold that model. It was my first Hobby Grade (I guess you can call it that) RC compared to the Nikko Chicpmunk I had. It seemed so fast, it might have been! I will keep the search in ebay favorites, maybe I will own one again. Oh, and my parents wouldn't buy it for me, I tossed a lot of newspapers to buy it.

After a little more searching, I'm sure it's the Road Winner as the Royal Ripper was 4-wheel steering, I know the one I had wasn't.

Now that does like identical to the Tamiya hotshot.
I brought up the Royal Ripper because one of the local guys here in town used to have one.
He ran it outside to show us, I think it did have 4-wheel steering.

I used to own one of these, my 2nd rc car after my Hornet in '86 or so. I liked it but it was a bit slow with all that extra weight compared to the Hornet. It was fun in the snow, I sold it to a friend. I do still have the orginal box though!
