steering servo trouble
Got my revo out today and first thing I noticed was when i would turn the wheels it wouldnt return to center. It is sluggish even with the wheels off the ground. Freshly charged battery pack. Does this mean the end of the servo? Hi-tec hs645mg

RE: steering servo trouble
I got a user Revo here and it came with very expensive Hi-Tech servos. The steering servo did the SAME thing as yours and more, it was all over the place. I replaced it with a traxxas waterproof servo for $25.00 on Ebay and havn't had any problems since. The Hi-Tech throttle servo is also very twitchy so I tried to replace it with a traxxas the other day but the servo horn is different so I have to get a different horn.
I am eventually sending both back to Hi-Tech and very dissapointed with them. My Traxxas servo's have never failed me and they are cheeeep on Ebay.

RE: steering servo trouble
i have had them for a while now. I had to replace my old #2055 style servos they both went bad. I do like the fact the new ones are waterproof. Do you run two for steering or just one?

RE: steering servo trouble
turns out the servo wasnt bad. I had to change the dust boots on the driveshafts, and when i reinstalled I tightened the pivot ball caps too tight causing the wheels to "stick" left or right. I loosened them a little and the problem was gone
