Default Sach Dolmar 3.7 Catrb Problems

Just took my Cap 21 out of the hanger today and tried to start the engine (Sach Dolmar 3.7), it started up real easy but when I tried to speed up the engine it would die, so I took it apart and cleaned it with cleaner and blew it out with my air compressor. I also replaced the intake gasket, then started it up again and steel have the same problem. I just can't get the engine to speed it up.

The carb is a Walbro and on the side of it is HDA 22 85 I checked the diahragm didn't see any holes in it. Could have got hard from setting all summer and won't flex enough in order to pump the fuel?

The regulator diaphragm usually gets stiff and causes iregular fuel mixtures and irratic running

The pump diaphragm often has the little flapper valves curl up and stay off the valve seats and the pump with not work.

I just took the carb off again and notice that there was some oil coming out of the vent hole. I am thinking that could be stopping diaphragm working. I am going to take the carb apart AGAIN and see if there is some oil on the diaphragm. I do Thank You for your help cause it makes me think. LOL

LD, it is so easy to rebuild the carb, that it is worth while doing it before you try anything else. As soon as you eliminate it as the problem, you can focus on something else. You can find an exploded view of your carb at this website.

You can get a rebuild kit from here if you can't find one where you live. Dan.

The HDA carb was very common on 60cc chainsaws. You should be able to get a repair kit at the local chainsaw store.

Your engine was a Dolmar 6000 as a chainsaw but most of them had Tillotson carbs.
