Do you really need more then 2 channels for elec?
Do you really need more then 2 channels for elec? looking at varius controller systems, Spektrum, Airtronics, Futaba. Spektrum has the DX2s and the DX3s but I would be running electric SCT and a1/8th scale buggy. No crawlers or Nitro... What else would I need the 3rd channel for?</p>

nitros only need 2 channels too
3rd channel is for something extra.
Like on summits its the diff locker, and to shift speeds in the tranny
Nitro Savages use it to engage the reverse module
So in all truth it can be used for many different things. You might not have a use but others might find one like I've recently decided to use it for controllable headlights on my on-road car. Up till this point I never touched the 3rd channel.
